March For Our Lives

Today at noon, thousands of folks from Humboldt gathered in the rain and wind at the Arcata Playhouse for the "March For Our Lives." The Arcata march was one of over 800 marches around the world in solidarity with the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Florida. 

There were many inspiring speeches from students, community leaders and local clergy. There was good local music, and a very hopeful atmosphere, despite the cold wet weather. There were even 3 students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas in attendance at our rally, but they were apparently too shy to speak. After about 30 minutes of speeches, the walk began. It went up 8th, around the Arcata Plaza, and back down 9th the the Playhouse.
