Last night, Amy and I MC'd Blues Night at the Redwood Coast Music Festival. The Muni was rockin' with the sounds of Bishop Mayfield and Friends, Tom Rigney and Flambeau, The Terry Hanck Band, and Roomful of Blues.
Begining at 4:30pm, longtime Humboldt favorite Bishop Mayfield took the stage with a host of great local musicians who many of them have not played together in 20 years.
At 6pm Tom Rigney and Flambeau did their thing with a combination of blues and zydeco.
Then at 7:30 it was The Terry Hanck Band.
After Hanck's long set, it was the evening's Headliners, Roomful Of Blues. Before the band came on we invited Paul DeMark up on state who introduced Deborah Lazio. The evening was dedicated to Deborah, who over many years was heavily involved in the Humboldt County music scene. She worked for years booking bands for Blues by the Bay, and long before that, booking great acts at the legendary Old Town Bar and Grill.
