I'm pretty sure just about everyone has heard the thunder.  After rolling into the station early this morning I got bombarded by tweets from the National Weather Service.  They were on top of it.

A few small t-storms now developing in N Humboldt Co., including one sitting directly on top of Arcata. A few lightning strikes expected.

NWS Eureka Meteorologist Brad Charboneau took some time to detail the storm situation.

It was an exciting night.  He said that they saw about 40 cloud to ground lightning strikes on the Humboldt and Del Norte Coasts.
