The Humboldt FORGE checks in from Standing Rock

Lyndsey Battle / Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016 @ 2:56 p.m. / Interview

This morning, I was to speak with Nicola Walters and Phil Santos from The Humboldt FORGE.  They are currently camping in Standing Rock, North Dakota.  Phil and Nicola share their perspective of how things are moving forward in the wake of yesterday's encounter between water protectors and local law enforcement, resulting in a record 83 arrests.  In addition to discussing the struggles faced by water protectors, they also advocated for a change in colonialist rhetoric and deeper reflection on how the relations in Standing Rock influence relationships within our own community.
