Earlier this week, I was able to sit down and talk with Eureka Police Chief Andy Mills about what local police are doing to ease tensions between people of color and the police, follow up on some comments he made at the Black and Blue Dialogue in October, and hear what the EPD is doing to protect people of color from extremists in the wake of the presidential election.  Chief Mills discussed racial profiling, how his department handles hate crimes, and what actions Eureka police officers are taking to establish a better connection with people of color in the community they serve.
