The Eel River Has Stopped Flowing

KHUM spoke with Friends Of The Eel's Scott Greacen earlier today. Greacen says that obviously, the lack of rain is the primary factor but couldn't speak to the impact of illegal water draws.

"That's the huge question. It's hard to see how the diversions we know are happening are, and everybody kinda knows the scale that has to be happening on, could not be affecting what's left in the watershed."

Greacen audio.

Illegal water draws can be reported to the CalTip line (1-888-DFG-CALTIP), Greacen said. KHUM caller Rob adds that photos of the Eel from 1977 could be helpful in comparing then to now, so share 'em if you got 'em.
