Tonight's Cocktail - The Algonquin

The 174-room Algonquin Hotel opened at 59 West 44th in Manhattan in 1902. The hotel has since been designated a national landmark and for very good reasonS, not the least of which was giving name to the Algonquin Roundtable. The hotel also has an eponymous cocktail, which we will feature tonight on The Cocktail Hour (6pm).  

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 ounces rye whiskey
  • 3/4 ounce dry vermouth
  • 3/4 ounce pineapple juice

Preparation:

  1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
