Set Yourself to Music: The Stories and Songs of Bill Bottrell with David Hayes

Mike Dronkers / Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 @ 9:45 a.m. / Music

KHUM is extremely proud to welcome two of northern California's most talented residents to the studio today. Steeped in rock lore, today's guests are easily among the most-interesting music dudes to every appear on KHUM.

Whether traveling to work with Michael Jackson in Bahrain or walking the streets of Mendocino with Tom Petty, it seems like Bill Bottrell has worked with, and written for, almost everybody in your record collection.

Another "happens to live here" musician, bassist David Hayes, will join Bottrell on stage. Hayes has played with Country Joe McDonald and Jesse Colin Young, but is most known for his work with Van Morrison, with whom he's shared the stage since 1973.

He also slept under a bush for two months, but that's another story.

Bottrell and Hayes will chat and play on KHUM at around 12:20 on Thursday, January 17th before their Playhouse gig that evening.

Sponsored by North Coast Brewing and KHUM, partners in supporting music in schools.
