Week One: The Escalating Danger of Family/Domestic Violence

November 2nd - 9am: Sheri Johnson and Cliff go over this year's campaign in detail day by day.  Sheri Johnson is the Director of Field Education, Dept. of Social Work, Chair of the Humboldt County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council.

 

November 3rd - 9am: Guest, Paula Arrowsmith-Jones, North Coast Rape Crisis Team.

 

November 4th - 9am: Guest, Dawn Watkins, Humboldt Domestic Violence Services.  The focus: Safe Exits (from a dangerous DV situation)

 

November 5th - 8am - 10am:  Live Call-In Panel Discussion. Cliff and Sheri are joined by guests, Paula Arrowsmith-Jones, NCRCT, Cynthia Ryan, Sequoia Humane Society, Susan McGee, HSU Lecturer, Garr Nielsen, Eureka Police Chief.  This discussion is on the week's main topic.

 

 

Week 2: The Sexual Exploitation of Children

November 9th - 9am: Guest, Carolyn Lehman, Author of "Strong At The Heart." The Focus: Children healing from traumatic sexual abuse.

 

November 10th - 9am: Guest, Lydia Walker, M.A., Counselor.

 

November 11th - 9am: Sexual Abuse and the Clergy. Guest, Dr. Felicia Williams-Jackson.

 

November 12th - 8am - 10am:  Live Call-In Panel Discussion. Cliff and Sheri are joined by guests, DA Paul Gallegos representing CAST,  Jan Bramlett from C.A.S.A. and Tara Emerson, N.C.R.C.T.

 

Week 3: Survivor Stories - Surviving and Thriving!

November 16th - 9am: Guest, Singer Courtney Weaver who survived a gunshot to the face and is now thriving.  She tells her story for the first time.

 

November 17th - 9am: Akaya Windwood - Featured in the book "Strong At The Heart" by Carolyn Lehman.

 

November 18th - 9am: Arturo Carrillo - Featured in the book "Strong At The Heart" by Carolyn Lehman.

 

November 19th - 8am - 10am: STV Healing Breakfast.  Live on KHUM open and free to the public at the Wharfinger Building in Eureka. Free coffee and pastries from Vellutini Baking Company.  Live music by Courtney Weaver.  Keynote Speaker: Holocaust Survivor, Sam Oliner.  Cliff and Sheri are joined by a live panel of guests: Carolyn Lehman, Paula Arrowsmith Jones, Professor Marlon Sherman and more.  Plus booths from numerous helpful agencies.
